How to use the overtime pay calculator

  1. Enter your normal hourly rate.
  2. Enter regular hours and overtime hours.

How overtime is calculated

Overtime pay is hourly rate × overtime multiplier × overtime hours. At time and a half, a 22 rate becomes 33 for each overtime hour. Total pay is regular pay plus overtime pay.

When overtime applies

Rules depend on where you work and your contract. In the US, many hourly workers get 1.5× for hours over 40 in a week. Check your contract or local labour rules for your own situation.
