Random Token Generator

Create strong random secrets with your browser’s cryptographic random generator. Nothing is sent or stored.

Random Token Generator

How to use the random token generator

  1. Pick a format and strength. 256 bits suits most secrets.
  2. Choose how many tokens and an optional prefix.
  3. Copy them, or generate again.

Choosing a format

  • Hex: safe everywhere; 2 characters per byte.
  • Base64 URL-safe: shorter, and safe in URLs and file names.
  • UUID v4: the standard unique ID format, 122 random bits.

A prefix like sk_test_ doesn’t add security but makes keys easy to recognise in logs and code scanners.

Examples

256 bits, hex

64 hex characters

128 bits, URL-safe Base64

Questions

Are these tokens really random?

Yes. They come from crypto.getRandomValues, the browser’s cryptographically secure generator, the same source used for encryption keys.

Is my data uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser, so what you paste never leaves your device.
